The old town of Aldeburgh with its beach and fishing boats, cinema, museum summer theatre, shops and restaurants, and Leiston with its leisure centre/pool, cinema and museum are both about 4 miles away. As is Snape Maltings, which has shopping, galleries, and a famous concert hall and Thorpeness which has its own laid back style and boating meare. Friston is surrounded by beautiful countryside with interesting walks all around, of note are Dunwich heath, Minsmere bird reserve and Rendlesham forest. Southwold, Walberswick, Orford and Woodbridge are also worth a visit and are all within 30 minutes drive.
